Situated in the heart of beautiful Mid-Wales between Newtown and Machynlleth alongside the A470. This 17th century Inn offers a warm welcome to travellers and locals alike.
With two bars we offer a wide selection of beers, lagers, and ciders as well as a varied range of quality home cooked meals to cater to all tastes.
The Inn has six bedrooms, all recently refurbished. All rooms are en-suite, centrally heated and have colour television & tea / coffee making facilities.

The Inn, which gained its unusual title from the retired sea captain of a ship of the same name is situated in the village of Carno opposite the church of St. John the Baptist.
The church is the former site of a hospital of the knights of St. John and the final resting place of fashion designer Laura Ashley.
Carno was also the family home of Chicago gangster and one time "America's most wanted man" Llewelyn (Murray the Hump) Humphries who took control of the mob after the arrest and imprisonment of Al Capone.
